PEMBROKE PARK, FLA — A town commissioner who was charged yesterday by Broward prosecutors for misuse of 911 has responded. Jacobs, 48, was charged yesterday after he made a frivolous 911 call, claiming that Mayor Ashira Mohammed was in possession of a gun and he was "in fear for my life". Broward Sheriff's deputies responded to the Pembroke Park Town Hall in November 2023, where they searched Mohammed during the town commission meeting. No firearm was found.
Jacobs responded to the charge via a Facebook post, which read in part: "Taking a stand against the status quo and shedding light on years of ingrained corruption, the squandering of taxpayer dollars, and widespread fraud comes with its share of challenges." The statement was followed by a graphic that read "fuck around and find out". It is unclear who or what Jacobs was referring to with the post, but it comes not even a day after he was charged with making a false call.
This is a developing story.
