In Palm Beach County, thee are a number of legislative seat up for grabs on November 5th, 2024. In five state house districts, Democrats are the clear choice.
In House District 89, we end endorse Debra Tendrich to succeed term-limited Rep. David Silvers.
In House District 90, we endorse Rep. Joe Casello.
In House District 91, we endorse Jay Shooster in his bid to oust Rep. Peggy Gossett-Seidman, who does not deserve re-election.
In House District 93, we endorse Rep. Katherine Waldron for re-election.
In House District 94, we endorse Democrat Rachelle Litt to succeed Rep. Rick Roth, a term-limited Republican.
In these districts, we've endorsed the Democratic challengers and incumbents because it is clear that the Florida Legislative GOP is extreme and out of control. From extremist abortion bans, to the lack of sound solutions to address the property insurance crisis, Palm Beach County residents deserve better. There needs to be balance restored in the legislature, and that starts by taking away the Republican supermajority.
Jay Shooster, 34, is an attorney and rising star in the Democratic Party. He presents freshness, and sound solutions. As a young adult, he will bring newer perspectives and a much needed refresh to the Democratic caucus in Tallahassee. His focus on the property insurance crisis, the environment, and gun control prevention is in stark contrast to the incumbent, Rep. Peggy Gossett-Seidman, who presents mediocrity at best. At a time when Palm Beach County residents yearn for champions to address pressing challenges, Gossett-Seidman is more interested in extremism.
Debra Tendrich is a non-profit executive who founded a healthy nutrition organization called Eat Better Live Better. She is a board member of the Delray Beach Chamber Education Fund, and a member of the Housing Leadership Council of Palm Beach County. She will likely succeed Rep. David Silvers, another Democrat. Big shoes to fill. In House District 94, Rachelle Litt is the best choice to succeed Republican Rep. Rick Roth. This seat is a must pick up for Democrats in their bid to take away Republicans' supermajority, and Litt presents the best opportunity for Democrats to do so. Litt is a Palm Beach Gardens City Council member and former Mayor who has won in Republican areas before. She has experience in local government, and her focus on housing affordability is well placed and much needed. Housing affordability does not get the attention it deserves in the legislature.
