Florida voters will choose whether to retain or reject candidates in judicial offices on November 5th. Two Justices of the Florida Supreme Court are on the ballot statewide this year. The justices are Renatha Francis, who was appointed to the bench in 2022, and Merideth Sasso who was appointed in 2023. Both, DeSantis appointees, should be removed from the bench by voters.

Renatha Francis, a DeSantis 2022 installment to the court is not just a Federalist Society member, she is unqualified for the role. She hasn't been a lawyer long enough to sit on the court, but that didn't matter to DeSantis when he appointed her. Along with her colleague Merideth Sasso, they repealed Floridians' abortion rights, rejecting the right to privacy that has been guaranteed to Floridians' medical choices in the state constitution for decades. Not only do they both know better, they chose to do this in line with DeSantis' ideology instead of legal precedent.

They won't stop there. If Amendment 4, the abortion rights measure passes this November, you can count on Francis and Sasso to ignore voters' will and implement DeSantis' crooked fascist anti-choice agenda anyways. Florida needs an independent judiciary, not one that is beholden to a political party or individual. It is our opinion that these two Justices have lost their right to sit on the highest court in the state. Voters should vote NO when they see these two names on the ballot.
