The County Editorial Board recommends that voters re-elect Nan Rich to represent a West Broward County Commission seat, and re-elect Greg Tony for Broward County Sheriff. Rich, first elected in 2016, has been a loud voice for affordable housing, women's issues, the environment, and fiscal responsibility on the Broward County Commission. She previously represented the area in the Florida State Senate. This will be her final four-year term, as a result of term limits. We also believe that Gregory Tony is the best candidate in the race for Sheriff. DeSantis suspended Scott Israel from office in 2019, appointing Tony to the seat. He won re-election in 2020. His tenure has not gone without controversy, though. We believe that Tony should scale back his controversies. Chill out with the insane budget requests, and get your office and personnel under control. However, his opponent is virtually unknown and has not done anything to warrant his election. Case closed.
